Holiday time

I'm spending my holiday time away from Zagreb with my family down south and I'm heading back tomorrow, so I figured it'll be a good time to write a new post. Nothing's happening much, I'm just stufying myself in food and relaxing. Our Christmas tree is quite red this year as you can see:

There's also some light in my room :D

I'm also spending my time taking "artistic" photos of the living room,...

taking photos of my mom's Weekend perfume by Burberry since I'm planing an order of the same one but for a much lower price than in the store. I want to be sure it's not fake when I receive the ordered one and I have something to compare it to. Lol, yep I'm really bored.

and organizing my travel makeup bag:

However, I did purchased some new stuff and received a couple more.
My makeup bag was clutered with lost polishes and lipsticks so I had to purchase a smaller bag to gather them in one place. I found this cute colorful one in a small store in my town for only 1,5 $:

There was a 25% sale on Rimmel at a local Iris store, so I had to get polishes since my collection is too humble and I NEED moar!! I got the first one on the left from my sister for Christmas along with some other cool stuff (non makeup related):

After some good reviews and swatches on the web I also got Essence's Stay With Me longlasting lip gloss in 03 Candy Bar. It smells and tastes nice, has an amazing color and really does stay long on my lips. For less than 5 $, I'm satisfied.

And something I finally ordered after so much waiting. Nyx 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Champagne & Caviar from my last wishlist. I'm so happy and I can't wait to get it. <3

You may also noticed I changed the watermark font for my pics. I think this one is way batter and kinda fresh, I hope you like it.

Adding a new post feature: POST SOUNDTRACK!
This time I'm enjoying in: Crystal Castles - Not In Love (original track)

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss - Mistress

A few weeks ago I entered Illamasqua's Store in Zagreb for the first time and got out with a few products on my wishlist card. One of them was one of the most beautiful lip pigments I ever wore on my lips - Intense Lipgloss in Mistress.

Mistress is described as "bright coral orange" on Illamasqua's online store. I find this color quite fascinating, mostly because it changes the color on your lips. You will see futher more on the pics that is takes a solid pink color on mine, but still it keeps the original coral-ity. It comes in a beautiful slim black box with Illamasqua's logo and description: Come out of the shadows with high-shine, colour-rich Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in a wide range of bold colours. Create lips that look full and glossy, without feeling sticky. Draw attention to your lips, and to you. For 120 kn (£13.00) you get a tube of 7 ml, but considering the quality and the name you're getting, I find it affordable.

The lipgloss comes out after you squeeze the tube (made of harder plastic), but you should be careful with the quantity because it's quite thick and you don't want to have super extra amount of product on your lips. It can give a sheer look with a minimal amount of it, but I like to use a bit more to give myself that extra WOW effect on the lips. The application is not really hard if just want to squeeze it and slap it on, but for a precise and clean look I use my thin painting brush (until I buy a decent lip brush online lol).

The color is quite orangey coral when you observe the packaging and the lipgloss on the brush, but it changes the color once applied on the lips. It's quite thick so I could say it's more a liquid lipstick than lipgloss.

All in all, I have to say I simply love it. The pigmentation is insane, it has a nice scent and taste (fruity?), it's NOT sticky at all and the packaging is sleek and elegant. The one thing that knocked me over the most was the durability - it stays really long on your lips, and even after the gloss is gone, you still have the color on your lips. And that's a great thing because if you want to touch it up during the day, you only need a minimal amount of the lipgloss to shine again.

Here's how it looks on me:

I told you it turns out to be quite pinkish on me, but I don't mind. Because it really an amazing lipgloss, the color really brightens up my mood during these cold gray winter days and it stays quite long on the lips. I'd say my first purchase and experience with Illamasqua is more than good :) I also have to say that the employees in the store are awesome. If you're interested in a certain product of simply scrolling through the store, they will give you a full makeup service, so you can see what colors suits you and how it feels on you skin before purchasing anything. The store is elegant, black and mystic, the atmosphere really nice and I can only say I'll be back for more soon!

Voodoo Blonde's wish list #2

Just so you know, I have a special notebook for my wishlists. I edit and fill it in every single damn day, that's how crazy I am. But I'm always searching for new things to blow my money away on, and since makeup and cosmetics are my love (next to comics, anime and cats), I can't help it. I'm one of those girls who will walk in second hand clothes (looking rather good! ;D) but have beautiful makeup on their face. After my birthday passed and I got a bunch of presents, I made a new wishlist. This one is surprisingly smaller than the last one (or maybe not, I really can't tell).

Too Faced Smoky Eye Palette, Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Illamasqua Mistress Intense Lipgloss ( photo source: )

Illamasqua Rude Cream Blusher ( photo source: )

Avon True Color Quad eye shadow palettes: Purple Haze and Mocha Latte

Avon Illuminating Face Pearls

Nyx 10 Color Eye Shadow Palette Champagne & Caviar

OPI Nail Polishes: Suzi & The Lifeguard, Hot & Spicy, Suzi Says Feng Shui

Escada Ocean Lounge Edp, J.Lo Glow Edt, Burberry Weekend Edp

 E.L.F. Basic & Studio Brushes

Vichy Purete Thermale Calming Micellar Solution, Vichy Nutri Extra Fluid

I have a few more extra things I really don't crave specially like these guys, but anyway, you get the point. It's going to take me forever to buy all of these, argh. Especially since I can't find a job @tm. Well, at least dreaming is free.

Do you guys like my wishlist? What are your cravings at this moment?

Avon Makeup and Cosmetics

All I can say about Avon - I love them! When I was in high school my girl classmates and I were always scrolling through the catalogs (there was always one around!) and ordering lipstick that didn't match our skin tones xD Ah, the good old days..
A month or more ago I accidentally stumbled across some add on the net featuring Avon, so I decided to give my high school memories another go. I found a local Avon lady over an advert and made my first order. It was right around my last birthday. So far, I have more skin care products than makeup, and I can't believe how well they improved over the years. And so did their prices, but I think the quality of the items allows in, never the less. Some products are still there ever since my teen years and I was so happy I could order them in a matter of seconds and get everything I wanted (and could afford) in 5-6 days. I'm lucky I live in the capital city at the moment :) And there's one thing I would like to mention; and that's the reason why I like ordering my cosmetics from catalogs -  it's because I like the thought of purchasing items that someone didn't opened, smelled, played around or even tried on their own skin before me! This happens quite a lot in most of drugstores here, it really irritating and disgusting. I'm not saying someone didn't mess with Avon cosmetics before my order, I just think it happens more rarely than in Kozmo, DM, Bipa or other drugstores here..
So, I decided to review some products for you, despite of my big wishlist and more product that are ordered and still coming.

My first order consisted of: True Color Quad eyeshadow palette in Pink Sands, True Color Blush in Russet and Nailwear Pro nail polish in Blue Shock. I'll be reviewing the first two since the polish is bad - it's not too opaque and stays shortly on my nails, so I don't really like it.

The Pink Sands quad palette consists of 4 pearly neutral-warm shades: light pink, blush pink, caramel brown and greyish brown. I love this palette! It's awesome for a simple yet elegant day look and the colors look amazing on my blue eyes. I prefer shades like these and I think everyone can wear them, despite your skin tone or eye color. The packaging includes a black minimalistic box (I keep all the packaging boxes, cause it keeps the items secured better), the black plastic container with a big mirror and a dual sponge applicator. I find the last two details really useful, esp the applicator because it's firm, thick and adsorbs the pigments quite well. The price is 60 kn (11 $) I don't know how many grams you get in this palette since it doesn't say on the packaging. Weird...

The swatches:

(under artificial light, night time, with flash, NO PRIMER)

(under artificial light, night time, with flash, WITH PRIMER)

As you can see these are pearls shades, with a solid pigmentation, but you WILL need a primer for these babies to show their true color. Like the name says :) I use Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base since it's affordable and does the job perfectly. Also, these eye shadows don't have a fallout. You will have some particles flying around in the container since it's black and it makes it extra visible, but no other cons are included.

The next item is True Color Blush in Russet:

This is one of the most pigmented blushes I ever had. The shade is MATTE, so it's a big plus if you're searching for a day coraly-orange-brick blush that doesn't have any shimmer in it and will look good all day long. I got this one as a bonus in my order: it's original price is around 12,5 $ (69 kn), but I payed it 1 kn since my order was +90 kn. So this is the cheapest item in my beauty case, but one of those definitely worth having. As I said, it is REALLY pigmented and you will need a super light touch to get a small amount of it on your brush for a subtle day look. I use my Bourjois kabuki brush to apply it. The packaging consists of a black minimal box, just like the eye shadow palette, the container with 6 g of product, a large mirror and a smally applicator. The last one in not useful at all since it leaves a thin straight line of the blush no matter how much you blend it, so I recommend using a bit bigger brush.

The swatches:

(under artificial light, night time, with flash. L - heavily applied, R - blended)

Don't let the shimmery particles on my swatch fool you - it's a 100% matte blush and these particles are just leftovers from the eyeshadow swatch I did few minutes before taking the last photo. The blush has a powderly texture so it does have some fallout, but only with the smaller brush in the container. As I mentioned; I advice using a larger (flat) kabuki brush for the best results and application.

Next, I have some skin care product to show you.
The first two are foot skin product -  Beach Treats Sea Salt Foot Scrub and Heel Softening Cream. They really do the job, esp the heel softening cream which really softness them :) I have problems with hard skin down there and I need to do a whole bunch a rituals before going to bed everyday so I don't wake up with more damaged skin than the day before. They come in tubes of 75 ml and 100 ml and both of the products are thick so I suppose I'll be using them until springtime! I bought them together on for 30 kn (6 $).

Also, how cute is the Heel Cream packaging? :)

Next we have 2 Planet Spa products, Dead Sea Minerals Exfoliating Body Scrub and Mediterranean Olive Oil with Orange Flower Soothing Eye Treatment. I heard only good things about this skin care line from Avon, and since I just ran out of this kind of items in my collection, I ordered them last week and got them yesterday.

OMG, this is the BEST body scrub it the world! Well, at least the best body scrub I ever tried. The scent, the texture, the packaging, the feeling it leaves on your skin - all are perfect and I am very pleased with it. I was thinking of ordering the Olive Oil scrub, but I got this one in the end. Good for me! Too bad I can't explain how good this thing is.. The Soothing Eye Treatment is actually a lighter eye cream. It has a texture of a gel-fluid and it absorbs quite fast, leaving hydrated skin and a healthy shine for a few hours after the application. It doesn't flatten out visible wrinkles (is there any product like that except Botox lol?), but it nourishes the skin and that was something I really needed since the skin around my eyes looks tired in the evening because I wear a lot of makeup and use quite a bit of products. I got them as a package for 79 kn together (around  14,5 $). The body scrub tube holds 150 ml of products and the eye treatment tube hold 15 ml of product.

I'm still waiting for a cleansing face mask which should have came with the last order, but it was out of stock. I hope the reason was the awesomeness of the product :D I also have a whole bunch of Avon's products on my wishlist, but I won't be bothering you with them for now.. Hope you like these reviews guys.

Tell me - do you order cosmetics and/or makeup from Avon? What are you favorites? Do you have some products to recommend?

Update 05.09.

Revlon Matte lipsticks

Last weekend I purchased 2 Revlon Matte Lipsticks: Mauve it Over and Really Red. The second one is a big WIN for me, since it's the first red lipstick that suits me and is not too dark or too pinkish, but a truly classic light red shade that can actually suit everyone.

I am quite satisfied with these lipsticks, mainly because of their color and durability. The packaging is kinda tricky - it opens a bit hard, but that's fine with me because it prevents accidental openings in my bag. They are a bit dry, but it's understandable because they're matte and stay quite long on my lips, which doesn't happen with creamy lipsticks. Here are some detailed photos of the lipies and swatches:

(top: Revlon Matte 006 Really Red, bottom: Revlon Matte 003 Mauve it Over)

I took a bunch of photos of the lipsticks on my lips, but somehow Mauve it Over insists on being too blury, and my camera broke again when I was photographing Really Red -.- So, here are some photos of my today's "pin up" makeup with Revlon Colorstay Black Liquid Eyeliner and Matte Lipstick Really Red, hope you like them:

I look like a 50's housewife, don't I? I was making pizza while taking the last photos, you can see the apron around my neck and the hair-doo is appropriate, so I'll just leave it here. Kisses :*

Today was a rather warm day - almost 15 °C and it was a perfect day to go for a walk in the city's biggest forrest - Maksimir. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon with my dear boyfriend. Here are some pics:

Notice how the center tree on the 2nd photo made a heart shaped branch? :))) <3

Too Faced Natural Eye palette review + swatches

Hy guys, I'm so sorry for not posting sooner. My camera was malfunctioning so I couldn't take any photos at all. As I mentioned in the previous post I finally bought the Too Faced Natural Eye shadow palette, so I'm doing a review on it now. I've been testing it for the past 3-4 days and I wore all of the shades and color combination and I can say I'm sooo happy with it.

The packaging:

The palette comes in all-paper-material version, including the shade container, cards and the outer box. It's a very eco-friendly approach and the back of the box says: "Tested on celebrities, not animals." so I find that very positive. For almost 50 $ (265 kn) you get 6 eyeshadows - the big ones are 2 g, and the smaller 0.9 g each, total 11,4 g. Plus the double sided applicator which I found useful and the style selection cards. The cards are great too, esp if you're a beginner and have no idea how to apply lighter or darker shades or how to blend and create light effects on you eyes. Although the palette may seem a big pricey, you get 9 shadows for 50 $ and that's 5,5 $ or 30 kn for each. I'd say DAMN that's affordable!

The eye shadows:

There's 3 matte shadows - perfect for a light day look, 3 semi-sheer shadows (with minimal glitter) for a highlighted day version and 3 very pigmented extra glittery shadows for a more dramatic effect. Heaven is a matte dirty-white, Velvet Revolver pure taupe, and Sexpresso a dark brown matte color. Silk Teddy (my favorite, plus the name is adorable!) is a light sheer pink, Push-Up a brownish cooper and Erotica an ahsy brown color, with some gold holo effect. Nude Beach (my least favorite) is the lightest pink possible with a lot of sheerness and huge gold glitter chunks, Honey Pot is sexy gold sheer and Cocoa Puff (super duper pigmented MF) is a dark chocolate shade with minimal gold glitter in it. I have to mention that the last one (Cocoa Puff) is kinda hard to blend, a the first one (Heaven) is quite low lasting - it came off instanly only with pure water and it kinda sinks in the skin after a few hours.

The swatches:

Day light

Day light in the shade

Under artificial yellowish light
The instruction cards:

As I said, these babies are quite useful and easy-to-follow. My favorite is the classic version, although I find Day the most wearable one and Fashion the least, but only because of Nude Beach - thoes huge glitter chunks should stay away from the lower brow part, is so NOT suitable for highlighting. Maybe for New Year's Eye when you want that extra extra shiny look, but for a day occasion not. I even find it hard to wear during the night. Too bad my swatches didn't capture those glitter parts...

All in all, I can only say I'm in love with this palette, and it's no wonder since I've been craving it for almost 3 years. Not that I had no money to buy it, I just never had a larger amount of it so I could buy everything I needed in that moment plus the TF palette.

So, do you like it? Do you own this palette or any other Too Faced palettes? What are your experiences with this brand?
